Beijing, China, March 4, 2021 – Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) has announced that its 5G Voice over New Radio (VoNR) communication conformance test case has been certified by the Global Certification Forum (GCF) in January 2021. To improve customers’ voice call experience, mobile operators leverage 5G Core (5GC) and Internet Protocol (IP) media services architecture to provide VoNR services. Vendors use the 5G IP Media Services (IMS) conformance test case to verify that their 5G devices comply with 3GPP specifications, ensuring accurate delivery of multimedia services such as voice over IP (VoIP), video conferencing, and video on demand (VoD). Keysight also used the protocol conformance test tool suite to submit protocol test cases to 3GPP for the first time to verify that 5G NR equipment can support IMS services.

According to the GSA Association (GSMA), more than 220 mobile operators have launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE). The business also relies on IMS to efficiently utilize the available spectrum and provide a clear calling experience.

Device and chip manufacturers, as well as mobile operators, can use Keysight’s 5G protocol conformance test tool suite to access a variety of 5G NR conformance test cases to test 5G NR technology functions, including IMS, Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) application tools suite (USAT), LTE and cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X). Through testing, they can deliver new products quickly and cost-effectively. Test cases are delivered on a common hardware platform that supports both 5G and legacy cellular technologies, ensuring seamless handover of voice and data between 4G and 5G.
